Childhood Dream Coming True

So ever since I was little I always had the dream of being able to freely run through a field on horseback. Standard trail rides don't really provide that. In fact, half the time you don't even have to control your horse. So coming out to Colorado I had the hopes to possibly being able to do that.

After a lot of searching, and truly believing that I wasn't ever going to be able to do that unless I was on a ranch with friends or owned my own horse. We ended up at this ranch that had an "advanced ride" but they required at least two riders to go out. My parents were willing to pay for the cost of two people so that I could go. I got to go out with one other girl (someone who worked there) and ride around for two hours.

We climbed to the top of a mountain and got off to take pictures and chat. We were rarely on trails and often riding through the open fields or forest. I got to trot and lope (jog and run) through the fields and being able to lope through an open field for a good distance was truly amazing - I want to do it again ... and again and again. Not only was it really awesome finally being able to "achieve" my dream, but I got to talk with my guide the whole time and she was really awesome. We talked about our faith (the ranch is a Christian run ranch) and life and all sorts of stuff.

All and all the day started out pretty bad and ended up pretty awesome. It was just a reminder of Romans 8:28 (God will work all things together for the good of those who love him).
